Mr. Ángel-Luis Arias is the Representative of Spain on the ICAO Council since June 2023.
Before ICAO Council and since 2015, Mr. Arias was the Director General of ENAIRE, the Spanish Air Navigation Serves Provider and also during this period, he was the President of CRIDA, a company dedicated to the research and development of innovative solutions in air traffic management (ATM).
Since 2012, Mr. Arias held the positions of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Aviation Safety and Security Agency of Spain (AESA) and Vice-President of the European Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL).
Mr. Arias also worked at AENA, the National Spanish Airport Operator, occupying diverse technical and managerial positions. Before joining AENA, he worked as officer in the Spanish Air Force.
Mr. Arias holds Master’s degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and in Business Administration.
