Fiona is the Head of Aviation Safety at the UK Department for Transport, with over a decade of government experience working within aviation safety and security. She has worked closely with ministers in strategic, operational, and policy-making roles. A respected leader in aviation, Fiona oversees the UK’s State Safety Programme and plays a pivotal role in shaping aviation safety policy while providing oversight of safety in the UK’s aviation authorities.
As Vice Chair and a founding member of the Global Aviation and Aerospace Skills Taskforce (GAAST), Fiona is committed to addressing workforce challenges through international collaboration, driving innovation, and ensuring a sustainable, inclusive future for aviation and aerospace. A passionate advocate for diversity, she actively champions women in transport and fosters partnerships between government, industry, and international organizations to promote excellence and resilience in the aviation sector.
